Description

Seated group portrait of four of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions taken during the party's journey from Ayun to Mudayy. In the background Abdullah bin Misad, a tribesman of the Rashid Bedouin, kneels in the sand at the far left. He has a long headscarf wrapped closely around his face. In the central foreground Said bin Musallim, also of the Rashid Bedouin, leans forward on his elbows. At the far right Sultan bin Ahmad, a sheikh of the Sh'asha lineage of Bayt Kathir Bedouin, sits in the sand.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
