Description

View of a bush in the region of Al Dhafra sands taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey to Baynunah. In the central foreground a large bush grows in a stretch of wind-rippled sand dotted with a few tufts of vegetation. In the distance beyond more bushes grow in a depression between dunes. In the distance low rolling dunes continue into the far horizon below a cloudless sky. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
