Description

Three-quarter length portrait of sailors on a dhow (sailboat) in the Persian Gulf near Dubai. Three sailors stand in front of a rigged sail on the deck of a dhow. Behind them the sky is clear and the sea is choppy with small waves. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18-28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai to Bahrain Island.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
