Description
Portrait of Salim bin Tamtaim, one of the leaders of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, at Andhur spring. A sheikh of the Bayt Ghuwas lineage of the Bayt Kathir Bedouin, Salim bin Tamtaim is sitting on the ground holding a stick. In the background the party's camels stand along the side of the spring. A few palm trees grow beside the pool, and in the far distance the steep cliff walls of Wadi Andur are visible.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
