Seated portrait of two Manasir Bedouin men at their encampment in the Baynunah sands. Two elderly Manasir men with thick beards sit in front of a large bush. Each man wears a ghutra (headscarf) tied around his head and a light coloured thobe (long shirt). The man on the right also holds a camel stick. In the right background bags lie in the sand. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
