Description
View of the Shindagha district from Dubai Creek. In the foreground a small boat and a large, heavily loaded dhow (sailboat) are beached in the sand. Nearby piles of coral, used for building houses, lie on the shore and a number of people walk across the sand. In the left distance a large enclave of 'arish huts and enclosures made from palm fronds sit in the sand. In the central distance a square stone watchtower, the Shindagha, rises high above nearby buildings. In the far right distance, on the far side of the creek, one and two storey houses are built close together in the Shindagha district.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
