Description

View of a group of men couching their camels near Al Muwaiji Fort in Al Ain. In the left foreground a man walks with his camel towards a large group of men in the process of couching their camels in flat sand. Behind them two men ride their camels toward the group. Behind the group a few large bushes and a tree grow on a vast plain in the background. This image was taken between December 20, 1948, and January 27, 1949, during which time Wilfred Thesiger stayed with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Al Ain and joined him on a number of hunting excursions.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
