Description

In the foreground two of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions sit beside a campfire. On the left Salim bin Ghabaisha, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, lifts a lid off a coffee pot. On the right a retainer of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (one of Wilfred Thesiger's guides) sits beside a fire. Piles of firewood and camp supplies lie in the sand around them. Behind them a field of grass sits below a hill covered with small bushes.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
