Standing portrait of Wilfred Thesiger wearing Arab dress in Dubai. Wilfred Thesiger stands on the rooftop terrace of a house in Dubai, turned towards the left. He leans on the balcony railing, which is made of plaster and carved wood. He wears a khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt and suspenders over his light coloured thobe (shirt) and a ghutra (headscarf) topped with an 'agal (head rope). In the distance behind him wind towers top the roofs of nearby houses.
