Group portrait of six villagers or Bedouin men with Arabian horses in the region of Al Ain oasis. In the foreground four men holding rifles sit in rocky sand. Behind them on the left a man stands with two horses, one white and one brown. On the right another man stands holding a rifle. All the men wear thobes (long shirts) and headscarves (ghutra). Some of the men also wear khanjars (daggers) on cartridge belts over their thobe. This image was taken during April 6-30, 1948, when Wilfred Thesiger stayed at Al Muwaiji fort in Al Ain as a guest of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
