Description

Full length standing portrait of Salim bin Kabina, a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, with a camel in the Wadi Al Ayn. In the left foreground Salim bin Kabina, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, stands holding the head rope of his camel. He is wearing a light-coloured thobe (shirt) topped with a khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt and suspenders, and carries a rifle under one arm. His saddled camel stands on the left. In the background another camel stands on the far left, and a large tree and a few tufts of grass grow on the plain behind them.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
