Description

The party is travelling from Al Ain to Jabal Sumeini. In the foreground a line of footprints marks the wind-rippled sand, leading from the front right to the far left where one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions sits on a dune looking through binoculars. He wears a thobe (long shirt) and ghutra (headscarf), and has a rifle slung under his arm. In the distance beyond a vast rocky plain spreads out below a far mountain.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
