Description
View of a tent at a Manasir encampment in Baynunah sands. In the foreground camel droppings litter the sand in front of a large tent in the midst of a vast sand flat dotted with vegetation. The tent is divided into two sections with a woven palm mat. A number of Manasir men and boys sit in the sand outside the right section of the tent, while women and a child sit inside the left section. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
